I've picked up a bit of a cold, so I thought I would just stay put today and I have to admit, I really enjoyed my day.
Anyway, there was plenty of local entertainment!!!
The cruise liner came in as was noted yesterday. It stopped just the other side of the Railway Bridge and the passengers all disembarked via little boats. They started at about 7am and they were still going at 11am... Now they're all queuing up to go back on the ship again.
Here's this morning;s queue...

Apart from the entertainment of the ship's arrival, there was more....
Went for a walk after brekky and just down the road was the beginning of the Edinburgh to Rome car rally. They literally left as I watched. They had heaps of different horns and sounds.... who needs to go somewhere else for entertainment!!!

Then I could sit and watch them all queuing up to get back on the ship again!!!

Now I have to attack my suitcase in preparation for my flight to Dublin tomorrow. I will make sure my jar of Vegemite is in my big suitcase this time! Because it's a smaller plane I have to make sure I don't go over weight limit, so might need to do a little re-arranging and make sure I wear my heaviest clothes!!!
Scotland has been just magnificent. I left this hotel on May 8 and have done a complete circuit of the country. The scenery has been awesome - not only the mountains and the lochs, but the coastal scenery and the islands I have visited.
How lucky am I to have had this wonderful experience. And even though writing this blog has been a bit of a discipline at times, I know I can come back to it when I return and re-live all those magical places I have visited.
I am very blessed!!!
PS A few people have been saying their daily emails are not getting through. I'm not sure why..?? Just check your spam file or junk file maybe...???? Because I send the same email to over 100 people it might be classing it as spam. Anyway, you can always just go straight to the blog and hit refresh in your browser, and it should put the current day's post up.
Or, up on the top right where the months are listed is a little arrow next to each month, click on this arrow and it will give you a drop down list of all the posts also.
Hope that helps...
Hi Moira I am happy to say that I have been receiving your daily news without a problem and thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Like others, I am very keen to now visit (or revisit actually) Scotland. Have you thought of organising your own tours? I'm sure you wouldn't really want to do that but you could publish your notes as a travel guide for others. I'm looking forward to Ireland now! Like Scotland it is 30 years since I was backpacking there as a young solo traveler so I am expecting some old memories to be stirred as well as new places to discover. Bring it on . . .
ReplyDeleteYay Katie..
DeleteBring it on indeed....!!!Glad to hear your email is ok... a few people have experienced problems it seems. Glad my notes have stimulated a desire to come here. You would not regret it...it’s a beautiful place. Time for a visit I’d say!!!
Thank you for sharing beautiful Scotland with us. It was just so beautiful. I've woken up to a pea-soup fog this morning in Melbourne and it just looks like the photo you sent! So, on to Dublin. I did a brilliant "walking tour" in Dublin and learnt so much. Enjoy the sights and sounds, especially the music in hidden little pubs.
ReplyDeleteThe mist has added another dimension to my stay these last few days... just feels like Scotland should. All that sun was a bit of a worry,,,!!!! Looking forward to Ireland and especially the music and Irish coffees!!!!😀
DeleteAs I have never visited Ireland, I am really looking forward to 'Touring with Moira'. Safe journey my friend.
ReplyDeleteAaah Denise... it’s God's country!!! Better put it in your bucket list. I’m really looking forward to Ireland. Thanks for travellingmso interactively with me so far,,,😀
